Summer Garden

Of course you all know I live with my grandmother and my uncle lives next door. He raised a wonderful garden this year.

So far we have put up peas, 50 bags of green beeans, 35 dozen ears of corn, squash, pickles, and that may be it for now but we still have late green beans and corn, plus the fall items.

Wow, I have broke up green beans and shucked corn till my thumbs are truely green!

I Fell

I fell and broke my arm in December so I haven't posted as much as usual. My right are is broke just below the shoulder and jamed back together with a small spinter on one side. The shoulder has two fractures where the rotator cuff is and I have been in pain now for a month. It is starting to heal though and I should be able to get rid of my sling in a couple of weeks.

In the mean time you can here me on blogtalkradio every Wednesday at noon with the Lunch Bunch.

I am so excited -- Coming Soon!!

On January 1, 2008, I will unveil a surprise to Beloved-Creations. I can't believe technology has changed so that I can do this. It is a secret till then, so just keep checking back and stay tuned for 2008. It is going to be an exciting year!

Table Rock Formation From My Back Porch

This picture shows, what we call here in Krypton, a Table Rock formation. Maybe some giant used to use this as his dining table in the way past. Who knows, but it is beautiful. Once I walk out of my grandmother's yard, I only have to walk a few hundred feet until I can see this rock. In the summer, you can't see it at all for all the foliage. Some of these rock formations here in Eastern Kentucky will be destroyed as coal companies use "mountain removal" coal mining practices.

A True Red Hat Lady

My grandmother is 93 years old and this hat shows she is a real Red Hat Lady. She is so cute!

They Mystery of My Bonnet Solved

I saw my cousin, Cathy, at church last week and she confirmed that my bonnet was made by her mother. Cathy's mom was my great-aunt. Cathy also gave me a picture of my grandfather. I had never met him or even seen a picture of him until today. Mystery solved. I'll share this with my children so the story won't get lost again.

I'm Back

I not only went out of town for Thanksgiving but then got too sick with a cold to post. But I am back and well. I just finished a project with my aunt about our 6 generations I hope to post soon. I just have to figure out how to post a power point presentation so you can hear the music too. I'll figure it out.

It is just 21 days until Christmas -- are you ready yet? I am no where near ready. I make all my gifts to give away and since they are nice gifts, it does take me a while. This year I am making dolls, tote bags, purse, a quilt, table linens and yo-yo ornaments. Lordy I need to get busy!

I'll post pictures as I finish and tell my children and grandchildren not to peak.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

I went to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday night. I had no idea what I was about to see. It was an incredible show of rock Christmas music, lights, and fire! Yes Fire. Now, you have to realize I am in my 50's and one of my aunts is in her 60's. But we did have a blast!

I live over 2 hours from Lexington, so two of my aunts and I made it a whole day event to include the concert. First we left Krypton and drove to Lexington, we stopped at Pier One, and Garden Ridge (if you haven't been to a Garden Ridge during Christmas you should go), then of course we had to eat at our favorite Italian Restaurant. We still had over and hour to kill before we needed to head toward the concert so a stop at Barnes and Nobles was a must. I was able to get a Gingerbread latte and peruse all the new books, including the new book "Rhett Butler's People. Off the the concert we go -- with excellent seats we could see everything going on. The music was loud, crazy, way good, and memorable. I can't wait to see them again. Next year I plan to take my 13 year old grandson -- he will love the guitars.

Yo-Yo Christmas Garland

I am listing this yo-yo garland made from Christmas fabrics on my website http://beloved-creations.com/ under the Christmas and Winter Category. It measures 107 inches, which is almost 9 feet.

I will be adding some additional yo-yo garlands next week, after I come back from Virginia on Holiday.
